It’s a super-compact, circular HomePod. With a U1 chip to support Ultra Wide Band tech meaning that Handoff, which allows you too easily pass your music from your iPhone to the HomePod, is going to get a re-vamp. Because of the £99 price tag, Apple has made an ‘Intercom’ system: allowing one HomePod to play a message on another.
Of course Apple had to release a new iPhone. It’s got square sides and 5G compatibility allowing up to 4Gbps download speeds, which is ridiculously high considering the average UK broadband connection is 27Mbps: 148 times faster. Internet speed isn’t the only performance improvement. Until now, chips used 7nm tech: the A14 Bionic that powers the new phones uses 5nm tech.
MagSafe has been added to the new iPhones, meaning that the iPhone will use magnets to ensure that it’s in the right place on a wireless charging mat.
Apple has kept the lower prices of last year with the full line-up being:
£699 for the iPhone 12 Mini, £799 for the iPhone 12, £999 for the iPhone 12 Pro and £1.099 for the iPhone Pro Max model.
